The Big Coffee Comparison Pt 1

I’ve decided recently to compare the quality of my roasted coffee with that from other roasters. I’m not looking to see if mine is better, instead, as I’ve mentioned before, my lack of experience wth quality coffee has left me without a ‘measuring stick’ so to speak.

I ordered roasted beans from Ristretto Coffee, Coffee Collective and Has Bean and will be evaluating ,with my very obliging family, by pulling shots of espresso and cupping. It’s going to be interesting, I’ve never cupped another persons coffee alongside mine before so I may either end up very happy or very frustrated. Now that all the coffee has arrived, and mine has sat to degas for a few days, I’ll begin testing. On the espresso side of things, the help I got on toomuchcoffee.com regarding the boiler temp/pressure on my Fracino Little Gem should help make the shots more consistent, thanks guys.
